The Kendriya Vidyalaya Leimakhong is located around 20 Km North – West from Imphal , the beautiful Easternmost state of India . Leimakhong is comparatively on little high altitude and very beautiful scenic beauty. The temperature is above little lower than the other places of Manipur. During winter it some time grow to the minus degree celcious. People sometime call Leimakhong as the Switzerland of India. The school was at the beginning run by the army since 14th Jan 1986, the school was converted to Kendriya Vidyalaya on 9th Dec. 1986. The inaugural function of the Vidyalaya was attended by Lt. Gen K.V Krishna Rao DVSM, the then Governor of Manipur and Nagaland.
